In the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman; His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports; and H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, the Al Tabba Championship in Al Ain concluded its second edition with Team Al Asoof crowned champion.
The championship was held at the Umm Ghafa Grounds in Al Ain, organised by the Al Tabba Committee under the umbrella of the UAE Sports for All Federation and in collaboration with Al Ain Youth Council. Abu Dhabi Ports Group sponsored the competition, which was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, Abu Dhabi Police, and Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026.
Held over two consecutive days with more than 600 people in attendance, the championship featured intense competition and advanced mastery of the game, with Team Umm Ghafa securing second place, while Team Al Gharbi came in third, amid strong public turnout that underscored the growing popularity of this traditional sport.
Saif bin Maftah Al Neyadi, Chairman of the Tabba Committee, affirmed that the championship reflects the importance of partnership between stakeholders in the sports and youth sectors, along with national institutions, in organising community events that strengthen national identity, help preserve traditional sports, and pass them on to future generations.
Al Neyadi went on to explain that the competition forms part of a series of initiatives that support youth empowerment and promote traditional sports in the athletic scene and the broader community, reinforcing values of belonging to the UAE and pride in its rich cultural heritage.
